The Westside story
Four decades of caring for Jefferson City's pets, from one young clinic on Country Club Drive to the team you know today.
Mark and Dr. Lynn Shively opened Westside Veterinary Clinic in 1985. Since then it has grown one doctor at a time, but it has always been a place where families from across Jefferson City bring their dogs, cats, birds and pocket pets and are known by name.
01 — The founder
Dr. Lynn Shively and a clinic on the west side
Dr. Lynn Shively opened Westside Veterinary Clinic with Mark Shively in 1985.
In 1991 she hired a new University of Missouri graduate, Dr. Linda Patton, and became her mentor. The practice kept growing: Dr. Jill Brady joined in 2009 and Dr. Steve Jacobek in 2012.
Dr. Shively retired in May 2013, and Dr. Patton, after 22 years at her side, bought the clinic.
